Birders and wildlife lovers from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey will gather on February 5, 2011 for Cumberland County’s 10th Annual Eagle Festival. The festival promises visitors a day packed with guided and unguided trail walks, lectures, exhibits, wildlife sightings, and the annual Chili Bowl fundraiser. The area is home to many bird species. Last year’s sightings included Cooper’s hawks, Red-tailed hawks, Northern harriers, Merlins, American kestrels, Peregrine falcons, various owl species, and of course, eagles. Visitors may also be able to spot the area’s other wildlife species, such as river otters. More at Wild New Jersey
