1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Pennsylvania state environmental officials will conduct a live webcast of the banding of the young peregrine falcons that hatched last month from a nest on the ledge of the 15th Floor of the Rachel Carson State Office Building in Harrisburg.  Biologists from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will retrieve the newly-hatched nestlings, called eyases, weigh them and place a metal band with a falcon-specific code around each bird’s left leg. Wildlife officials and bird enthusiasts use the band code to monitor the birds after they leave the nest. Department of Environmental Protection Acting Secretary John Quigley, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Acting Secretary Cindy Dunn and Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director Matt Hough will make remarks during the webcast.  LIVE STREAM:  http://pacast.com/players/falcon.asp
